Hi SS & Divyanshu,

Thank you for reply!

Sorry I have one question.

In SAP Note 1718576, it says ;

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

                2. In the source system,

no

SAP HANA-optimized objects have been created, and

no

SAP HANA-based add-ons have been installed.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

What does it mean that SAP HANA-based add-ons have been installed?

Doed It measn that if I installed HANA Live, I can't execute system copy to MSSQL?

Or if I created ABAP Add-on with HANA Live, I can't execute system copy to MSSQL?

Thanks in advance.

Best regards,

Kazuki

Hi Kazuki,

I believe I have asked you to run this tool once for checking these options.

Also, I can see this in guide

SAP systems based on SAP NetWeaver 7.4 SP03 and higher:

During any migration or copy of a system with declustered and/or depooled tables – such as an SAP HANA system

– your target system will get the same database layout. That is, it will have declustered and depooled tables.

Therefore, consider the recommendations for your target platform as described in SAP Note 1892354.

May be you take this further any follow what I have asked.

HI SS

When I executed migration to HANA, the DB size that before migration(MSSQL) was 160 GB. And After migration , the DB size(HANA) was 55 GB.

Best regards,

Kazuki

System copy using R3load helps yo reorganize the database space. This is the reason why the database size is less than the source system.

Hello

As you have an ERP 6.0 EHP7 system it should be possible to do a migration from HANA to MSSQL but the SAP note 1718576 - Migration from SAP HANA to another database system looks applicable only for SAP BW systems. You should consider raising an OSS message and get this clarified with SAP if you are migrating an ERP landscape to MSSQL.

The SAP note 2044328 is applicable if you are doing a migration from MSSQL to HANA

Hi Kazuki,

Migration from HANA to any other supported DB is possible.

You need to read the latest Migration guides and relevant notes.

You need to check the following below notes:

1718576 - Migration from SAP HANA to another database system

Also, migration from MSSQL to HANA is also possible.

For eg, a below note shows the same.

2044328 - Migration fails if MSSQL and SAP HANA database passwords contain special characters

The only requirement above is compatibility - which I believe you need to check

When you will run the Migration tool, you will get option to select your target DB.

If you get your MSSQL version, you have hit it right.
