GUI 740 - code highlighting bugs

Hi, this discussion is part of my previous thread - i was asked to post questions in separate threads...

Abap editor(new) does not highlight syntax on some systems (all text is black even highlight settings are properly set). I'm not sure if this is caused by incompatibility between kernel/basisSP and gui.

This happens not only when blue crystal theme is selected, so it looks like general gui bug (not related to UI theme):

do you experience anything similar?

btw, editor in most of systems works just fine...

Might be solved with note 2081078 - SAP GUI 7.40 ABAP Editor displays incorrect syntax colors for ABAP source code or note 2081798 - SAP GUI 7.40 ABAP Editor bricht in Systemen mit Releases kleiner als SAP AS ABAP 7Ehp2 ab.

Well it is not solved in the notes above.

The notes do not contain a patch for the SAP GUI.

It is only a current Kernel attached, but the Kernel would not fit to the current SPS of older Systems (pre 7.40).

So how to patch SAP GUI if no patch is available?

Hi Tino,

apart from this thread I created incident on SAP Marketplace, I specifically asked if it means that our only option is to wait for patch and answer was Yes.

According to 1053737:

Patchlevel 1 is expected to be shipped in week 50 (8th  - 12th of December 2014)

Hi Martin,

Yeah, this does happen sometimes. But most of the times you can change the same as you have shown in the above image. Also the idea of changing the theme also works.
