Hello,
I am facing some issues in downloading or saving any data in excel from SAP portal. Current version of my SAP Portal is NW7.4 sp07.
When I am trying to save the data into excel nothing happens. Initially i thought its a Java version problem(currently Java 7 sp65 in my system) but i tried upgrading and degrading the java version but the problem still exists.
Screenshot for your reference :
After clicking the tick mark nothing happens.
Please suggest if someone has any idea about this problem.
Sunny
Hi,
The issue has been resolved by implementing note in the backend system.
The note number is - 2017287

Hi Sunny,
I had this similar issue and below table entries cleanup helped, but mine was ECC not portal.
SE38 > SALV_BS_ADMIN_MAINTAIN > F8
choose appropriate options while deleting on this screen.
you can also search other *SALV* tables related to this.
Also check browser compatibility settings (like popups,GUI settings so on..)
Good Luck!
Thanks,
Giridhar

Dear Sunny,
Can you please check in Internet Explorer your portal should be in Trusted site and it must run under compatibility mode. Then it should work.

Hi,
Can you check other format also.
You have a look at SAP Note: 552915 and 696069.
What is your MS Office Version?

Hi,
Have you check Macro Setting in MS Excel whether enable or disable?
If not enable the Macro Setting in Excel.
SAP Note - 1500294 - Export to Excel results in blank windows opening up
You could use the workaround offered from Microsoft, please refer to the links http://support.microsoft.com/kb/927009/ or http://support.microsoft.com/kb/162059.

Hi Sunny Raj,
This should be a JRE version imcompatible problem. Please enable the debugging mode in JRE (you can do in Control Panel --> Java). Then you run your program.
You will get a popup where each and every steps will be documented in JRE. Also check your browser advanced option for which version of JRE is used.
Thanks,.
Mahendran B.
is it a standard application or customized one?

Hi Sunny,
I believe you are calling a transaction from Portal and trying to save / download the excel from there.
If this is the case, directly access the transaction through GUI, and then try to save / download the excel file and check if it there is the same behavior.
Also, try with some other user id as well or probably on a different machine.
Moreover, as this was working till few days back, can you please verify if there has been any change on the server side Portal or R/3.
BR,
Anurag
Hi Anurag,
Yes I am calling a transaction from Portal and trying to save / download the excel from there. The behaviour is quite normal if I perform the same from GUI, the file gets downloaded without any issue.
I have tried all other options, with different PC,different user IDs but no luck.
Also to add there has not been any major activity either on Portal side or on the R/3 side.
This is a bit weird as nothing has changed at system level or at the server level.
Sunny
