SAP ESS apps - Help centre

Hi

In WDA apps we have got help centre in the self Service Apps , so that users can navigate to the Help Guides and FAQ documents.

However the same is not given in case on SAPUI5 apps. For example if i need to show Help guides related to Leave Request , how can i enable them in Leave Request UI5 Application ?

On the landing page is there no help links in the top right of the page ?

Alternatively is there no help within each lane - or in the UI5 application - again in the top right of the page

How did you previously add help guides to WDA - via launchpad ?

thats correct, We dont have it yet for UI5 screen. But if you launch personal profile and navigate to WDA version, you ll get Help Center as expected. Please raise an OSS message for this as it might be included in new releases.

Hi Stuart

We can add help guides and FAQ for specific applications through SHC_ADMIN transaction.

These guides will be available if the user goes to that application and click on Help center icon on the top right of WDA application.

In this way we can manage separate help guides for individual wda apps.

That's strange Siddharth , that SAP has not yet thought of Help Center for UI5 apps , as it is very crucial for employees who have been used to access FAQ/ Help guides directly from the WDA apps.

Its like selling a product without giving manual instruction guide to consumers !!!

Any alternative that you can suggest ?

yes, you are right, UI5 should have this. Helpcenter is not context sensitive also in WDA> We advise customer to use one central repository as you are doing in WDA. are you using a portal or NWBC? You can add a link for helpcenter.

We are using Portal currently and planning to migrate to NWBC later. Could you please explain which link to add and how it can be done ?

Thanks for your response , Siddharth. However could you please explain in detail ?

For example if we take the case of Leave Request Application , in WDA , on right hand top corner we have icon for help centre which directs to FAQ and user guides which we have configured through SHC_ADMIN.

However in UI5 , we could not find any such functionality for providing end users for similar navigation to user guides . On My Services lane , there is only one icon to expand and go to detail view . Further if we expand the lane , we have option of information icon in bottom right hand corner. When hovering over it , it pulls description of the service from launchpad.

There is no provision for users to access help guides in UI5 like in WDA app ?

on top right hand corder on chips, there are icons, we didnt deliver anything separate for UI5 currently
