Hi All,
A question was asked by business that “Does SAP have the capability to auto update equipment BOM based on the goods issued to the maintenance order?”.
Pls. add your output with explanations, Thanks
Dear Aditya,
As maintenance order may have multiple goods issue at various times some of the
goods may be in consumable nature and some may be spares. It would be injustice
to build something which will auto update the bill of material upon maintenance
order goods issue.
As far as I know there is no standard process of auto update equipment BOM upon
activity triggered in maintenance order.
Thanks and Regards
Rahul

Aditya Bhavsar,
No, SAP does not have this functionality.
I'm in agreement with the comments above - this could be a little dangerous.
However, we once developed a customer-specific report that compared the current BOM materials with the goods movement materials over a user-defined period. The user was then able to select materials and either add them, or delete them from the BOM.

Hello Aditya,
As rightly observed by Rahul, it will be incorrect to build BOMs on the basis you mentioned. In spite of this if your business has some justification for this demand then your ABAPer can develop a solution through a suitable user-exit which triggers post Goods issue where we write a code to create a Equipment BOM if it does not exist, and to update the existing such BOM if the issued material is not there in the BOM. (Both can be done through ant relevant BOM create fm or through BDC program)
