Posting depreciation to a different cost centre

Hi

We have a scenario where we want to post depreciation to a different cost center than what is maintained in the respective asset master. Kindly let me know is there is any possibility of achieving this through substitution or user exit.

We tried for substitution using T.code: GGB1, however system throws the below error message ''You may not substitute any fields for this Event''

The scenario is like this we have maintained a cost center 1180011 in asset master. However on Running the depreciation through AFAB, the client requires the depreciation posting to hit a different cost center 1120012. At the same time client wants the Cost center 1180011 to be maintained in the asset master

Kindly let me know is this possible through SAP standard

Hi Vivek,

You can post depreciation for different periods with different cost center by maintaining validity period in the asset master. However, you cannot post multiple cost centers in the single period. After done depreciation posting, you have to transfer the balance to multiple cost centers either by distribution or manual JV.
