Registration without specifying academic session...

What is the meaning of creating a registration for a student without specifying an academic session? The system allows the user to do this and it seems to have implications for how module bookings can be carried out after that.

What is the difference between creating a registration with an academic session specified VS creating a registration without the academic session specified?

Can anybody shed some light?

Hi Andreas,

in SAP you have a hierarchy of sessions. So a period belongs to an academic year.

In the process to register to a program you can allow that the registration is only for a period or for the whole academic year, then covering all periods of the academic year.

By defining a period variant accordingly and assigning it to the program you should be able to specifiy whether registering to period and/or academic year is allowed.
