Hi Nagur,

Yes definitely you can migrate from PI 7.0 to PI 7.4 Single stack. But you have the following questions:

- Do you have any ccBPM scenarios currently in PI 7.0? If yes then you have to manually create them in new NW BPM. So you need to have PO - 7.4. PI 7.4 is not going to help. (PO = PI+ BPM+ BRM). This is the first thing your team should discuss with SAP on the licensing perspective.

You have migrate the classical scenarios to ICO. Take a look at the below document.

-

- Proxy, IDOC connection setups.

There are lot more to add, wait for other expert opinions as well.

Best Regards,

Justin.

Hi Nagur,

Yes the migration tool can do it for you - PI 7.0 to 7.4.

Points to remember -

1. As already stated above there is noCCBPM or ABAP mapping so it will be pretty easy

2. In case there was some third party adapter like advantco SFTP and now you want to use SAP SFTP then you can't migrate you have to develop it again

3. In the message mapping please take care of points as shown in below blog

4. JDBC and JMS driver deployment have to be done as required.

Hi Nagur,

I agree with Justin on migration point of view, you can confirm over the same if our understanding is not correct. We are also migrating currently from PI 7.1 dual stack to 7.4 single stack.

Also, for JDBC you need your basis team to deploy the SQL drivers on your new system. This is required for connection setup with JDBC driver.

Thanks,

Nidhi

We dont have any BPMS in the current project .we are using proxy to communicate with SAP

and iam aware of using soap adapter  fro the same and we dont have any idoc and http scenarios. We are communicating with SQL,MYSQL and Oracle database.Did we need to install the jdbc drivers after upgrade in 7.4.

any furthur activities required after upgrade please let me know.

You don't need to re-deploy the JDBC drivers. I think you are pretty much covered for the rest of the scenarios you have listed.

Hello Nagur,

seems to be fine as you don't have BPM scenarios.

Hi Nagur,

  • The direct upgrade only possible from single stack version to single stack.
  • There is no direct upgrade available from dual stack to single stack, you need to migrate the system.

Check below document

Praveen.
