Hello everyone,

When I try to add components to a PM order it says enter the Item Category .. when I do so it shows an error saying "Material type ZSER cannot be used with item category L

Now how can I know what are the item categories used with this type of material

You should check with your MM people, but I believe this is controlled in the configuration item shown below:

Specifically, for a gven material type, it needs to have the "Qty updating" flag set for your plant in this configuration step.

Hello Khadija,

Paul has given exact solution point for your error. Below I'm just trying to ease your task.

You need to navigate to the path given by him and do these.

Select ZSER  MTyp and Duble click on Quantity/value updating.

You get this screen below, where you'll tick the Qty updating checkbox against your plant . In the example below the plant is 1000.

This would solve your issue. You will be able to get it done by your MM team or MDM team who handles the Material master..

Hi Khadija,

As described by Paul, you need to contact MM team.

It looks like you should not use this material for reservation in work order. Try to use a different material.
