Agentry client issue - SAP Work Manager - No Business Logic error

Hi experts and users

Has anybody encountered the following Agentry issue?

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Ed

Scenario

  1. A user synchronises their Agentry client for the first time following client install or following a client reset.
  2. For whatever reason, the synchronisation does not finish e.g. loss of connectivity or perhaps backend authorisation issues.
  3. The initial issue that caused the synchronisation to stop is corrected.
  4. When the user attempts to synchronise again the following error message is presented (screenshot attached):

"No Business Logic - No business logic was loaded. Please check with your system administrator"

Issue

The above "No Business Logic" error continues to be presented, even when the original problem that caused the sync to stop has been corrected.

Furthermore, the error persists even after executing the following remediations:

  • Ensuring that the user id is not already logged onto the SMP server when retrying
  • Resetting the client, closing the Agentry app, hard restarting the device, reopening the Agentry app, entering sync details, and syncing again.
  • Deleting the Agentry app, reinstalling the Agentry app, exiting Demo mode, entering sync details, and syncing again.

Our Work-Around Solution

The only way we've found to correct this issue is as follows:

  • Resetting the client, closing the application, reopening the application, entering sync details of a DIFFERENT USER, and syncing again.

Following a successful synchronisation by the DIFFERENT USER on the device, the original user can then login and sync successfully!

Our theory is that there is something persistent left on the device (or SMP server) for the original user id, even after deleting and reinstalling the app, that prevents the app from downloading business logic for the given user.

Our Operating Environment

  • SMP 3.0 with SAP Work Manager 6.2
  • Agentry client (current version)
  • Mobile Devices - Apple iPad running IOS 9.x
  • Backend System - SAP ECC6 SP14

When you reset the iPad client make sure you double click the Home button and "swipe" the client away.  This removes the client out of of memory.  When the client is opened again, then use the "Reset client" button.

Hi Stephen

Thanks for your response.

As part of our testing, yes we "swipe" the client away after resetting the client, and this does not help. One of our tests was also to delete the app, do a hard-reset (iPad power+home button held down) and then reinstall the app - our assumption is that when you delete the app and do a hard reset, nothing should remain of the app.
