External no. range in billing document

How we can assign external no. range for billing document.

You cannot have an external no. ranges for Billing doc. And its not advicable to have an external no. ranges for Billing doc.

Good Morning,

Please take into consideration that numbers for billing documents should only be

assigned internally by the SAP system. There is no possibility to use

external number ranges for billing documents in the standard

functionality. This design is due to the fact that most countries do

not allow to use external numbering for billing document. Even in program RV60AFZZ, USEREXIT_NUMBER_RANGE is for internal number range only (see the documentation).

Define Number Range For Billing Documents

It says:

" Number assignment for billing documents can only be carried out

internally, that is, the SAP System automatically assigns a

consecutive number from the defined number range. "

Hi Martin,

If you look at TVFK config table you can see No. range ext. for my company some numbers assigned. how we can assign this number range through config.

You can by IMG > Sales and Distribution > Billing >

1. Define Billing Types: If possible use Standard Billing Type. Incase if required to create new, copy as from standard & maintain New.

2. Define Number Range For Billing Documents: Ensure to maintain number range.

3. Maintain Copying Control For Billing Documents: Maintain relevant copy controls such as Sales Order to Billing, Deliver to Billing, etc.

The configuration differs from scenario to scenario & requirement of the client.
