In April jeanne.carboni wrote about Project Ignite and that it was transitioned to me for project management. We did indeed officially kick off in May and I’d like to provide you with an update on the many deliverables and activities covered by the project.

Increased Community Engagement:
•  In July jodi.fleischman shared a small but important update SCN Discussion Icons...Now in Color that discussion icons can now be easily differentiated by color, making it clear which are questions and which are discussions!
• Campaigns such as #SCNis10 online and at events such as at SAP TechEd are coordinated with Ignite in mind. Specific Inside Track events such as Vancouver and Israel were organized to support Ignite goals of increased engagement and quality participation! For example moshe.naveh hosted “TED” style talks (15 minute presentations with no question/answer period) and directed all participants to SCN blogs created by each Inside Track speaker to follow up with any questions they had during the sessions. Feedback for the new model was amazingly positive!
• In Collaboration with University Alliances we are piloting a campaign to target top universities in the United States, inviting them to join SCN through Banners on their sites.
• All Support mails now include SCN Content Tag lines.
• In June tim.clark began the Build a Better Blog Series which last month had its fourth installment with Build a Better Blog (Step 4): SEO, Tagging and Posting Rules. Be sure to check it out if you haven’t yet!

• Engagement is always done in alignment with the core gamification team and specific mission elements have been incorporated to support Ignite goals.

• We're inviting everyone to engage! Check out the latest update (hot from this morning) on all content pages (see image under the word Actions) that includes an invitation to guests to login, comment, share and bookmark content!

Expand Community Membership:
• Our first step was to simplify registration by adding Social Sign On! First with Twitter, Social Sign On is Here followed by LinkedIn, Facebook and most recently Google! Perhaps it’s not surprising but so far SCN members prefer using LinkedIn to login but time will tell…
• Two mass mailings have been completed and another one is currently underway.
• At the end of May, oliver.kohl shared that auto login was enabled. Auto Login Enabled For Good! We are aware it’s not completely there (hi Safari users) but we are getting very close!
krysten.bradley has been incredibly active ensuring SCN is prominently featured (link love!) in websites. Also SCN articles are being promoted in  tons of newsletters! We’re also collaborating with SAP Education to ensure all trainees are aware of the online community information available to them in SCN 😉

Provide reliable, accurate data and improved reporting:
• While this project objective is more behind the scenes, trust that we’ve taken great steps forward here too.
• Regarding account merge (a very important goal for us as well as the gamification project) laure.cetin and I are working together continuously with scott.lawley and our platform vendor to provide a solution as soon as possible.

There are a lot of other campaigns and initiatives underway but I’m not at liberty to share everything yet!

I’m proud of the team and our accomplishments to date. We’re excited with what is yet to come. I’d like to take the opportunity to thank all involved and especially jeanne.carboni  for her guidance. I’d also like to welcome community members attending SAP TechEd Las Vegas or Amsterdam to please send me a shout out and come meet me there to speak in person on any great thoughts, ideas and feedback. While I align with oxananoa.zubarev on your ideas coming in via Idea Place that could be relevant, its always much better in person! So please find me there or should out via twitter @GKS
