Chapter3: Step by step to install the EHP7 FOR SAP ERP 6.0

1. Set the Virtual Memory size to 24GB. (A restart of the server is needed.)


  

2. Put the SWPM and SAPCAR in the same folder and then use SAPCAR to unzip the SWPM in the command line.

 

3. Check the extracted files and open the sapinst.


 

4. Pre-check of installation.

a) Select SAP Business Suite 7i 2013 Support Release 2

b) Select EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 ABAP Support Release 2

c) Select SAP ASE

d) Select Preparations

e) Select Prerequisites Check to run

Note that only the essential prerequisites for the installation need to be checked.

So there is no need to check the box and just click next to the end.


Make sure that everything is OK in the list before the installation



5. Choose the EHP7 in SWPM to install.

a) Select SAP Business Suite 7i 2013 Support Release 2

b) Select EHP7 for SAP ERP 6.0 ABAP Support Release 2

c) Select SAP ASE

d) Select SAP Systems

e) Select Standard System

f) Select Standard System to run


 

6. Start to install the EHP7.


Enter the System ID (For example, T01, P01, DEV)


Use the default and click next


Choose the kernel files of the NW740


Set the password of the master user


Use the default and click next


The system will use the password that has been set and we don’t need to input.


The same as the former one and click next to use the default


Click next


Click next


Choose the ASE installation file.


Choose the installation EXP1 and EXP2 of EHP7


Click next


It is recommended to use the default size setting, but you can change if you need.


Click next to use the default


Click next till the screen below:

Click OK


Click next to the end and

Click next if you think it ok for the installation


It will take several hours to do the installation


Normally the installation will complete without an error, but if you see the error during the installation, please retry it first. Then if the same error again, you may need to do the trouble shooting job.


After installed the ERP successfully, you can login the system using SAP Logon.

a) Click on the “SAP Logon” icon to open the logon screen.

b) Click on the “Variable Logon” button.

c) Select “User Specified System” and then click “Next”.

d) Complete all the needed information for the system. The application server is the hostname of the machine, the instance number is 00 and the system ID is the one you set during the installation. Then click “Next”.

e) Check the “Active Secure Network Communication” and then click “Next”.

f) Click “Logon” and you will see the logon screen of your system.

g) Use the user DDIC and the password setting during the installation to login.
