Professor who teache SAP ERP at Faculty of Business and Economics of University of Maribor has decided to offer a bit more of SAP to their best students, right before they went to their deserved study vacations. We, at SAP Slovenia approached them and offered them full support while organising series of workshops which happened every Friday through June. With these lectures and hands-on sessions we wanted to give students some additional knowledge and insights to capabilities of SAP ERP, SAP BI tool and Cloud solutions as well. The main purpose of workshops was to get students SAP knowledge beyond GBI.

First workshop has been carried out by Ms. Tadeja Pacnik Sajovic, Head of Finance&Accounting at SAP Slovenia and head of Accounting in SAP CEE region. With practical example of SAP Slovenia as one of subsidiary of SAP SE she explained localization specialties and differences for Slovenia in terms of different TAX types, TAX books and reporting towards TAX authorities, balance sheet structure, alternative balance, etc.

Next Friday we were in Maribor again with colleague Sandi Cemazar, who is Senior Consultant for HCM. He delivered hand-on deep dive to some of the processes in HCM module within SAP ERP.

On June 13, next workshop was delivered by colleague Natasa Rojec Spindler who is working for Ecosystem & Channel Solution Center in CEE. But as former consultant for Sales and Distribution she was able to deliver great workshop which based on her practical experiences while she worked on projects.

The last SAP School workshop was quite special as it was, for the first time, delivered by SAP Student Ambassador Petra Trafela who is a real role model of how students can develop themselves and grow if interested in SAP. Petra firstly presented about SAP Cloud solutions to her colleagues, continued with sharing her experience with SAP Lumira while she participated at Data Geek Challenge last year when she made to the final (top three applications). You can check her visualisation and story about Success of Hollywood movies here. Right after she led the students through the registration for SAP Lumira Cloud and showed some Lumiras’ functionalities. Few minutes later students already started to discover capabilities of SAP Lumira.

At the end I made an introduction to SAP Student Entrepreneurship Program and showed to the students what SAP can offer them and how can support them on their entrepreneurship path. The workshop was nicely concluded by Petra with inspiring speech about how she benefited from SAP UA opportunities, how useful these experiences were while she worked at SAP partner in the past and in these days, when she work at SAP customer. The main message was - step out of the crowd and use the opportunities which are given to you by SAP.
