HI,
After timeout in ESS it will ask for R3 login instead of AD login.
can anyone face such type of error.
Please help me out to solve this problem.
Regards,
Tejaswini
Hi Tejaswini,
1. Basically it is recommended to adjust the timeout in a way that
Frontend system (like portal) has same timeout threshold with that of Backend system.
2. How is SSO implemented? Does R/3 receive logon ticket (lives 8 hours by default)?
Does this timeout occur before logon ticket expires or after?
Best regards,
Tom

Hi Tejaswini,
Regarding point 1 I mentioned, I was mainly referring to ICM timeout but it should not be the key to your issue.
What matters most is how you implemented SSO and how issue is reproduced.
- how long should you wait till this timeout occurs?
- does R/3 system take logon ticket (MYSAPSSO2) for authentication?
if the answer is yes, how long is the lifecycle of MYSAPSSO2 cookie (login.ticket_lifetime)?
- Have you activated HTTP security session management on ABAP (note 1322944)?

Hi Tejaswini,
Sorry for the late reply. You need to get in touch with your basis Team, who can help you with that.
Also check http://<hostname>:<port>/sso2 link for SSO check for certificate & check whether that has been established.

Hi Tejaswini,
Can you please paste the error. also While configuring did you used SAP SSO2 or SAP Nego single sign on method.
Also For timeout issues normally related to SICF services or the portal web pages. so which page your getting the issue is it default ESS pages or some Zcodes.
Let us know more details on same.
