Hi Folks,
I'm trying to interate on-premise CRM in my company network with trial HCI on SAP cloud.
After all the configuration, when i try to ping the RFC destination, i see 'NIEHOST-UNKNOWN (-2)' warning generated in SMICM log trace.
as the error indicates, host-unknown, should there be any DNS setting done? if yes, where it should be done?
is there anything that should be done in SOAManger of CRM for HTTP connection to work?
Please advice
Regards,
Rashmi
Hi,
We are trying to connect the CRM System via HCI to C4C. We are doing some ping tests from RFC and when we turn on the trace we get the same message as reported by Rashmi. Any idea what can be wrong? We have checked every thing.
Thanks,
Andréa

Hi Andrea,
Can you pls let me know where exactly you specify the https protocol. RFC destination host name was without any protocol. Now i tried prefixing 'https://', but i still get the same error.

Hi Ginger,
we can add this to the FAQ - however this error will not always have the reason above. It basically says that the host name does not resolve in DNS. So maybe we can add it this way:
Host name can't be resolved in DNS. Possible reasons
1) typing error in host name
2) http:// or https:// entered before the hostname
3) wrong network or proxy configuration
Best regards,
Berthold
Hi Rashmi,
Couple of things - is HCI talking to a reverse proxy, or directly to your ERP? Is your ERP setup for SSL and exposed to the internet? Does your firewall allow you access? The FAQ Chandan pointed you to will definitely help.
